Dr. Elias Al Ashkar

Bio

Elias El Achkar is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Economics and Finance at the Lebanese American University. He is also the director of the Economic Research and Statistics department at the Association of Banks in Lebanon. He received his PhD in Economics in 2004 from University of Leeds in the United Kingdom. His research interests include financial crisis management and resolution, monetary and exchange rate policies in dollarized and MENA economies, Fintech, and digital money. His articles and book chapters have appeared in international journals such as Journal of Banking Regulation (Palgrave Macmillan) and reputable book publishing companies such as Routledge (Taylor & Francis), and Springer.
