Biography

Dr. Samantha Borkhoche is an assistant professor of economics at the Lebanese American University (LAU). She earned her PhD and MA in economics from West Virginia University, where she received the Best Doctoral Student Teaching Award in her fifth year. She previously served as a graduate research fellow at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation’s Center for Financial Research and participated in the 2024 Fund Internship Program at the International Monetary Fund. In the IMF’s African Department, she conducted research on environmental and development-related issues. Her research focuses on time-series analysis with an emphasis on developing and emerging economies.
