Biography 

Rabih J. Abi Ammar is a senior adjunct instructor in the Department of Finance and Accounting at the Adnan Kassar School of Business, where he has taught since 2008. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in accounting, banking operations, and financial statement analysis and has coordinated several core accounting courses.

Alongside his academic role, Abi Ammar is a senior banking executive with 24 years of experience in commercial and retail banking, digital banking, credit risk and enterprise risk management. He currently serves as assistant general manager and head of commercial and retail banking at BLC Bank, where he leads a division that includes the bank’s digital banking arm, NOMAD. He is also a voting member of the bank’s executive, credit, and product committees.

Abi Ammar is a doctoral candidate in Accounting and Finance at IE Business School, with expected completion in 2027. His research interests include climate risk and insurance markets, and he has presented his work at the FMARC 2026 Doctoral Colloquium and the 2025 IE Doctoral Consortium. He holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Science in Business Accounting from LAU, as well as a Master in Research Methodology in Management Science from IE Business School. He has also delivered professional seminars in collaboration with local, regional, and international institutions.
