LAU Freshman Students Admission
LAU freshman students who want to declare a major in Economics.
Freshman Sciences who have completed the freshman requirements may apply to declare their major in Economics provided they satisfy the specific minimum requirements for their major, which are:
- Having a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
Freshman Arts who have completed the freshman requirements may apply to declare their major in Economics provided they satisfy the specific minimum requirements for their major, which are:
- Having a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
- Taking and passing with a minimum grade of D one the following two courses BUS105 Business Mathematics or MTH101 Calculus I.
General notes:
- The admission committee takes into consideration the entire record of the student, number of repeated courses (W & F), and SAT I scores.
- Approval of Declaration of Major petitions is not guaranteed. Even if the student has fulfilled the minimum requirements, the decision depends on the availability of places in the desired major.
- All freshman students MUST equate the freshman year with the Lebanese Baccalaureate. It is the student’s responsibility to pass by the Registrar’s Office to inquire about the required documents for the freshman equivalency.
