TEDxLAUSalon V.6.0: On Mental Health
Wadad Said Khoury (formerly LRC) SCT 201, Beirut campus
“How come every other organ in your body can get sick and you get sympathy, except the brain?” TED speaker Ruby Wax said. Have you ever asked yourself this question?
Well, at TEDxLAU, we recommend that you “listen up.”
On Monday, February 17, an interesting event is taking place at LAU Beirut for you, for us, and for all those who believe that there is more to our health than this vessel we call a body. You will know a lot more about this question so many keep repeating: “What is wrong with me?” and if you have never experienced this yourself, find out about other people in your life who might be living with that unruly presence day in, day out, and know that saying “just smile, get through it, and ‘man’ up” is not going to save them.
This TEDxLAU salon will screen 4 TED talks about the everyday torment so many carry along with them…silently. We will focus on our mental health.
Event Program
- 6:30 – 7:00: Registration & coffee (mingling)
- 7:00 – 8:30: Screening 4 TED talks
- After 8:30: Post-event networking (for those interested)
Interested?
The event sold out in a matter of hours, but you can still add yourself to the waiting list using this link. We will release tickets in case anyone cancels.
If you’re an LAU student in Byblos, transportation will be provided on the day of the salon.
