Business Computer Center - Byblos
The Adnan Kassar School of Business in Byblos has one business computer center located in Block A, in Frem Civic Center. The current facility provides students with access to 40 state-of-the-art state-of-the-art HP desktop computers.
The center is configured for instructional purposes. An academic computer lab supervisor is responsible for the lab and is assisted by MBA graduate assistants to provide help in the day-to-day functions. Students have access to a variety of Microsoft products. In addition, user licenses have been secured for Macromedia Dreamweaver, EViews and SPSS.
Additional features include access to three high-speed LaserJet printers, a simulation lab, a sound system rack for instructional CDs and wireless microphones for use during faculty and student presentations.
Stock Market Room
In addition to the usual simulations in the center, the School has established a stock market room and subscribed to the services provided by S&P Comstock through its agent in Lebanon, First Financial Services. Students have access to real-time financial data and information provided by stock markets and exchange in the USA and around the world. Financial data are used only for educational purposes.
The room is used by all business students and especially by finance students who are required in several finance courses to manage portfolios and do research on the financial markets. Faculty members use the information for teaching and research.
