Banks, Explained
Informative Fransabank presentation on a bank’s organization, departments and functions.
The presentation “Organization of a bank: overview of departments, skills and capabilities required for each job,” by Fransabank Head of International Banking Division Georges Andraos, took place on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at the Adnan Kassar School of Business in LAU Beirut.
The aim of the presentation was to introduce our students to a bank’s organization, different divisions, departments and responsibilities. Andraos showed the attendees the organizational structure of Fransabank, starting with the board of directors, management, and control functions — risk management, compliance and internal audit. In addition, he elaborated on the roles and composition of the independent functions, as well as the different departments which yield revenue — SME, Retail, and International Treasury and Capital Markets.
The students interacted with Andraos and were inquisitive about the timely facts and real examples he shared in his detailed explanation. Andraos concluded by asking two questions related to the presentation. The students who answered correctly were promised a job shadowing opportunity in the department of their choice.
Another presentation is set to take place on March 15, in LAU Byblos.
