Students Leverage Local Business
In a unique and challenging initiative, senior marketing students put their class knowledge to the test by competing to craft an innovative, feasible and creative marketing plan for Savage Fitness, a private fitness studio in Jounieh. They worked under the guidance of Amal Saber, the Marketing Strategy (MKT498) course instructor and marketing director of Saber Industrial Corporation.
After receiving an in-person brief from the studio’s owner and founder, Mario Gerges, seven student teams created comprehensive marketing strategies for the business, demonstrating their expertise in marketing research, social media implementation and branding. They pitched their ideas to a jury composed of Gerges, Saber, Managing Partner IG Concept Shafik Idriss, and Youmna Zod from Zod Security.
The winning teams were announced on April 23, 2024, at the Byblos campus. The grand prize for the overall best marketing strategy went to The Savage Innovators. Team members included Yorgo Azar, Karl Joe Boyajian, Christa Ghayd, Rayane Khaled, Chris Yammine, and Nermine Zakka.
The Savage Puffs team won for the most insightful marketing research findings, with team members Mia Maria Bou Saab, Lynn Haddad, Amal Hbeiche, Claricia Hobaika, Yara Kachkouche, Luciana Nehme, and Celina Zeinoun.
Team Pulse presented the best brand image for the studio. Team members included Sasha Baliss, Jad el Haber, Haya Haydar, Elsa Ojeimy, Asyana Saad and Alissar Younes.
For the best social media campaign plan, the Savage Brandmasters, consisting of Fady Boulos, Larissa el Khoury, Tina el Khoury, Lynn el Kouba, Karen Karkafi, Christina Khoury and Christia Derikian, claimed the top spot.
