Students Recognized for Their High-Demand Talents
More than 120 students from the Byblos and Beirut campuses participated in 100 Years of Excellence: Inspiring Talents with Soft Skills, a workshop and competition spearheaded by Dr. Maya Shayya, a part-time instructor at the Department of Management Studies, on April 18.
Using the acquired knowledge and training gained in their Communication Skills, Personality and Career Development, Leadership Skills and Negotiation Skills courses offered by the department, the students put their learning to the test and competed in a series of public speaking, mock interviews and business plan activities.
Winners received prizes sponsored by leading businesses Deloitte, Word Vision, ICC Group, Dumont International and Bridge Talent Solutions. Prizes included five internships, high-tech products and accessories like mobile phones and power banks, $2,500 worth of gift vouchers for each of the winners, and over $2,000 rewards in cash.
Besides inspiring students to showcase their soft skills and talents, the interactive event also served as a networking opportunity with industry experts.
