AKSOB Hosts Talk on Stablecoins and Financial Sovereignty
On February 11, 2026, at the LAU Beirut campus, the talk Understanding Stablecoins, Financial Sovereignty, and Decentralized Finance brought together Banking and Finance students for a focused discussion. Organized by the AKSOB Career Office in collaboration with the Department of Finance and Accounting through the Investment Banking course, the session was led by Sovra Founder Ahmad Wehbi, who explored modern financial infrastructure, the difference between bank deposits and digital money and the role of trust in decentralized systems. The event concluded with an interactive discussion on product design, regulation and career pathways, sharpening students’ understanding of the field and its professional demands.
Underscoring its practical impact, a student was awarded a mentorship session at Beirut Digital District and a voucher, reinforcing the session’s academic relevance and real-world career value.
