Dr. Ali Fakih Presented his Research at a UN Women Workshop
Dr. Ali Fakih delivered a presentation at the “Designing an Intervention and Business Model(s) to Increase Women’s Employability in Lebanon” workshop, organized by UN Women on June 3, 2024, in Beirut, Lebanon. During his presentation, Dr. Fakih highlighted the sectors with the lowest representation of female workers, specifically the Green Economy, Energy & Water, Agriculture, and Construction sectors. He emphasized the need for implementing policies that promote inclusivity, such as anti-discrimination measures, flexible work arrangements, and support for work-life balance. In addition, Dr. Fakih noted that a tax reduction scheme should be considered to offset by tax subsidies, ensuring that the government does not bear all the liability for supporting such practices through direct financing.
