USAID Community Service Project: Promoting the Significance of Pursuing an Economics Major among Students
In the USAID community service endeavor, Ms. Theresia Rahme, an Economics student, played a crucial role as a key representative directing the focus exclusively on economics. Beyond distributing essential food supplies and kits to students from various schools in the Byblos region, the initiative included dedicated sessions aimed at illuminating the pivotal role of economics in daily lives. During these sessions, participants delved into the core principles of economics, emphasizing its profound impact on individual and collective well-being. Practical examples and real-world applications were provided to convey the significance of economic literacy in navigating the complexities of today’s world. Through this focused exploration of economics, the USAID community service initiative aspired to contribute to the development of a more economically literate community, capable of not only meeting immediate needs but also comprehending and addressing broader economic challenges with the support of the U.S. Agency for International Development.
