Antonine International School Students Exploring the Power of Economics at LAU

Assistant Professor of Economics at the Adnan Kassar School of Business Hassan Sherry recently welcomed students from Antonine International School–Ajaltoun to LAU’s Byblos campus for an engaging and interactive session on the value of studying economics.

The session held at the Frem Civic Center offered students a deeper look into the real-world impact of economics and the range of career paths it can lead to, from business and finance to government and global organizations such as the United Nations and the World Bank.

Dr. Sherry introduced LAU’s AACSB-accredited BS in Economics program, highlighting its flexible curriculum and the option to pursue a minor in economics. He also emphasized how the program equips students with critical thinking skills and a strong analytical foundation, which are increasingly vital tools today. To drive home the importance of economics, he explained how it shapes decisions, promotes change and opens doors to careers across industries and continents.

The session reflected the department’s ongoing commitment to nurturing minds and inspiring future economists by connecting academic learning with real-life application. It also underscored LAU’s broader mission to empower students through knowledge, curiosity, and meaningful engagement.
