Future Initiatives
The Institute of Hospitality & Tourism Management Studies plans to:
- Continue to conduct applied research to solve particular problems or to find answers to issues that are affecting the Lebanese hospitality and tourism industry. The institute research and development initiatives are not only geared to formulate or test theories, but also designed to solve complex scientific problems through the application of appropriate research methodologies. The Institute will periodically release travel and tourism related information about Lebanon.
- Develop specialized training courses to hospitality and tourism professionals. Courses in applied areas such as (bar management, ice carving, menu development workshop, kitchen skills, and production of ethnic foods) and course in managerial areas such as (customer satisfaction, total quality management, ISO certification, yield management, activity planning and scheduling) will be offered.
- Hold international Hospitality and Tourism Management conference. The conference serves as a platform where world-renown speakers’ researchers and local hospitality leaders join forces and share their experiences, visions, and findings. Conference attendees include hospitality leaders, hotel owners & managers, and travel agents. The conference will be sponsored by local Hospitality and Tourism organizations (hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, etc…).
- Expand the Academic & Professional Affiliation of our Hospitality and Tourism management program by establishing links and information sharing networks with named U.S. and European Universities. Additionally, work is well underway to increase our international industry network to reach beyond our existing base.
