Faculty Workshop by Dr. Paul Hong
The professor of operations management and experienced researcher shares with our faculty his methods for conducting distinguished research.
In line with the School’s mission for continuous development and improvement, the Department of Information Technology and Operations Management (ITOM) at the Adnan Kassar School of Business invited Dr. Paul Hong, professor of operations management at the University of Toledo, Ohio, U.S.A., to give a two-day research workshop for faculty, on September 30 and October 1, 2016.
The objective of the workshop was to introduce the strategies for producing quality research papers to be published in top-tier journals.
With more than 250 publications in high-ranking business journals and conferences, as well as two released books on “Development Network Capabilities in Turbulent Competition Environments,” Hong is equipped with substantial research knowledge and experience, which makes him a reference on how to identify valued research topics and write first-rate papers.
In addition to presenting his strategies, he shared with the faculty members the concept and importance of networking and of developing a school research agenda — stretching over five years — to ensure the School’s ongoing progress.
Scheduled following the workshop presentations, over the course of the two days, were individual consultation meetings, where faculty members sat with Hong and discussed their respective research interests and goals.
