Message from the Chairperson
Welcome to the Department of Information Technology and Operations Management
Technology, data, and intelligent operations are reshaping how organizations compete, innovate, and create value. At the Department of Information Technology and Operations Management (ITOM), we prepare our students not simply to adapt to this transformation, but to actively shape it.
Our department sits at the intersection of business, technology, analytics and operations. This unique position enables our students to develop the analytical, technological and managerial capabilities needed to solve complex problems, make informed decisions and lead organizations in an increasingly digital and AI-driven world.
At ITOM, we believe some of the most meaningful learning happens when students put knowledge into practice. Our students are encouraged to move beyond the classroom through hands-on projects, industry engagement, competitions, workshops, and collaborative initiatives that connect academic learning with real-world challenges and opportunities. We aim to create an environment where students are not only learners, but also active participants, problem-solvers and innovators who can apply their knowledge with confidence and purpose.
Our academic offerings reflect this commitment. Through our Information Technology Management program, the Master of Science in Data Analytics, the Minor in Data Analytics, and the newly introduced Minor in AI in Business, students develop the knowledge and practical skills needed to work with emerging technologies, transform data into insights, optimize processes, and contribute to digital transformation across industries. Together, these offerings provide opportunities for students to build expertise that responds to the evolving needs of organizations and the workplace.
Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming the business landscape and creating new possibilities across virtually every discipline.
