AKSOB Faculty to Give Keynote on AI at Medical Conference
Dr. Abbas Tarhini will speak on how to prepare future physicians for the digitized era.
Artificial intelligence can revolutionize personalized medicine.
That is the topic of a keynote speech to be delivered by AKSOB Assistant Professor of Information Technology and Operations Management Dr. Abbas Tarhiniat the Association of Academic Health Centers International’s (AAHCI) MENA regional conference entitled “Transformation of Medical Education in the New Era”.
The conference is being hosted by the American University of Beirut Medical Center and AAHCI in collaboration with LAU’s Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine, Columbia University/Narrative Medicinee Program, and the University of Balamand Faculty of Medicine. The conference will take place on AUB’s Beirut campus from September 27 to 29.
Dr. Abbas Tarhini will join Dr. Ahmad Tarhini, professor of medicine at Case Western Reserve University’s Lerner School of Medicine, to deliver the keynote speech during a plenary session on The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Personalized Medicine. The talk will provide an introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and demonstrate how it will revolutionize personalized medicine.
The exceptional value of the conference, says Dr. Tarhini, is that it will discuss the impact of AI on medical education, and sketch a new vision with “recommendations for schools of medicine on how to prepare our future physicians for the fast-coming digitized era.”
