Gain a New Learning Experience

Faculty and student exchange program with Effat University College of Business.

In alignment with its strategy to foster international partnerships and provide an enriching student experience, LAU has recently signed an agreement with Effat University, Saudi Arabia, which will result in mutually beneficial opportunities for students as well as faculty.

Effat University is a leading institution whose main goal is to provide top quality education for women in Saudi Arabia and to prepare them for leadership and active involvement in society.

The importance of women education and empowerment is where both universities’ missions unite, prompting the formation of an agreement. As AKSOB Interim Dean Dr. Said Ladki explained, “LAU was founded as a school for the education of women; Effat University is an institution that educates and advances women in the Middle East. Because of this similarity we were very happy, we wanted this agreement to work and we are behind it to make it happen.”

The agreement pertains to the establishment of an exchange program between Effat University College of Business and LAU AKSOB. It allows female business students of both institutions to attend one or two consecutive semesters at the other institution as “Visiting Guest Students” and thus to be exposed to the other university’s learning environment and student life. Similarly, the program enables faculty members to teach at the other institution, allowing for the exchange of knowledge and capabilities.

The agreement has taken effect on May 4, 2016, and will do so until May 4, 2018. Students who wish to be part of the exchange program are welcome to apply, provided they satisfy the agreed upon requirements for a visiting guest student.
